When I first started my diet in June 2015 I preferred this wheat germ recipe for 30 g wheat germ breads.
I make four flatbreads on one oven tray at a time.
The ingredients are:
- 30 g wheat germ
- 1 tsp sesam seeds
- 1 tsp ground sesam flour
- 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
- Herbamare salt
- Some good blend of complete seasoning blend – I useBest á allt (e: Best for everyting) from Pottagaldrar an Icelandic brand
- 60-80 ml of hot water
All the ingredients are mixed together in a bowl until you have a thick mixture that resembles porridge. I pencil some avocado oil on a multi-use baking sheet and then place the dough on the sheet and form sort of square flatbreads with a spatula. Next a sprinkle some black and white sesame seeds on top of the bread for flavour and decoration. Sometimes I use cumin seeds instead.
I heat the oven to 180-200°C and bake the breads for ca. 30 minutes. Then I turn the breads and bake it on the other side for extra 5-10 minutes.
